The larvae are grub-like, often widest in the middle and narrowing at each end. Early instars typically rest under leaves with the head curled against the abdomen. Later instars tie a couple of leaves together with silk to form a rudimentary nest.
Pupae have a shiny, metallic gold surface with indistinct brown markings.
