Ithomia celemia Butler & Druce


Identification:
Wings short, no black on forewing rear margin, round black spot in forewing discal cell, orange-brown grown color opaque, marginal spots all yellow- not white, no hindwing discal bar.

Local distribution: Not recorded from our region. Occurs in the southern Pacific area as far north as Quepos.

Similar species: Mechanitis lysimnia, Mechanitis polymnia, Melinaea scylax

Species range: Costa Rica to South America

Abundance: Not yet recorded.

Larval host plants: Cuatresia riparia

Early stages: Solitary
